It's all about creating a kinder Rio Rancho and combating bullying in our schools!  Rio Rancho Public Schools and the City of Rio Rancho's third annual Acts of Kindness Day is coming up April 11!  Find out about this fun and educational family event here!
2014-15 Calendar Update
It has been determined that our students will meet and exceed the state’s required number of instructional hours for the 2014-15 school year without our having to schedule a make-up day for the February 27 "snow day."  Therefore, barring other unscheduled school closures before the end of the year, the school year will end as planned on Friday, May 22.
RRPS Saves Energy!
Since 2008, The EnerG3 Project at RRPS has been actively reducing our energy consumption and raising awareness of the environmental impact of our operational processes. Cielo Azul Elementary Announcements
Kindergarten Round-Up Coming Soon!
Cielo Azul will be pre-registering all incoming Kindergarten students for the 2015-2016 school year.  Please stop by Cielo Azul from 2:30-6:00 p.m. on April 15th.  We will need current immunization records, original, state-issued birth certificates, and proof of residency that is no more than 2-3 months old (utility bill).
Come Help Us Paint the School Blue!
CAE Parents:  Just a reminder that Friday, March 27th we will honor the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), and we would like everyone to wear blue. Each grade level will walk the school bus parking lot as many times as they can for 30 minutes. We invite you to come walk the track with them and make it a family event!  Be sure to check the schedule below (we made a slight change since the very first time we posted this).

Run for the Zoo
Register Now for Run for the Zoo!
Represent Cielo Azul at Run for the Zoo on May 3rd!  Applications are available from Coach Sanchez or Coach Betty.  You can also download an application here! There are a variety of distances to choose from including a half marathon, 10K, 5K, and a 1 mile run/walk.  If students register with the school,  there is a special student discount.  All applications are due on Wednesday March 25.   You can download the application by clicking the link below.
Run For the Zoo Application

Grades 3-5 will be taking the PARCC assessments (and SBA Science for 4th grade) on the dates below.  We are asking for your help in making sure students arrive to school on time.  Also, we ask that you try to avoid making appointments during these times.  Please encourage your children to try their best, eat a healthy breakfast, and get a good night's sleep.  Thank you for your support and understanding!

5th Grade:  Computer Based PARCC on March 2nd-March 20th and also April 13th-24th
​3rd and 4th Grade:  Paper/Pencil PARCC on March 9th-March 13th and also April 13th-April 17th
4th Grade:  SBA Science April 7th-8th

Visitors are always welcome at Cielo Azul Elementary. Please do not go directly to the classroom. We ask that you always sign in on the computer in the front office and obtain a visitor sticker.
